My name is Sarah Serakalala. My tongue twister of a name is due to my South African roots I arrived in Madrid 5 years before South Africa was brought onto the Spanish radar due to the 2010 World Cup. I want to share the story of a little project that is growing in reach, collaborations and references in Madrid, The Cheap In Madrid Blog. This is a story of a project that went from a one woman show to a multicultural and multiskilled collaboration. The ingredients of the success of this recipe have been creative independence, transparency, ingenuity and responsiveness. The project and evolution of the blog to what it is today is thanks in part to the notion of the Mastermind Concept by Napoleon Hill: “The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony¨ as well as the manifestation an old African proverb which says If you want to walk faster, you walk alone. If you want to walk farther, you walk together. If you would like to learn more about this story including why we have caught the attention of a national newspaper like El País, comment and vote for us to present our story on June 2nd.
